In maths last week we revised how to multiply by 10. We thought about why 10 was a special number and how when we times by 10 ‘we move a column to the left’. i.e. from ones to tens or tens to hundreds or even hundreds to thousands. We talked about how when we divide by 10 we go in the opposite direction, so the number becomes smaller.
This week we will be taking this further. We will be multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100, exploring the inverse relationship between these operations and we will be applying these skills to money.
In writing we finished our magic box poems (please see many of the great poems children wrote below). This week we will write poems inspired by sound.
In project this week we will be discussing what skills a scientist needs and designing our own experiments.
